PIF - 6SL7WGT tubes

Have two US-made Cetron brown-base JAN 6SL7WGT tubes, if anyone can use 'em. Bought them used as spares but never got around to needing them having long ago sold the amp that they were for. The guy I bought them from was a reputable E-Bay seller, claimed he'd tested them and were reasonably close matches (tester model/methods unknown) and free of leaks/shorts. Labels on the tubes indicate readings of 1320/1250 & 1320/1350, but I can't obviously warranty any of this info or even their current serviceability.

I'd suspect these tubes are early '70's vintage as I believe Cetron took over gov't/military contracts during that timeframe. The plate/grid/getter structures look identical to those of the venerable TungSol 6SL7WGT tubes from the '60's. Being JAN tubes, they seem very sturdy and that often translates into a tendency for a fairly long life and low microphonics, so there's at least a decent chance that these'll probably work.

Price is right (free) and I'll even cover shipping if slow but mostly reliable Canada Post suits you. If you want/need something faster (UPS, FEDEX, etc), you'll have to spring for that, but am willing to help out a fellow HFC'er with that.

Cheers!

Page 2 bump.

In case you're wondering, these octal pre-amp tubes were found in many vintage Ampegs and Bogens, but are also used in many current boutique amps including models by Alessandro, Red Iron, Mission, and Bumbox, to name a few...

Jimbilly wants 'em, Jimbilly gets 'em. Hope they work out well for you, Jim!

They just arrived, -thanks!!! Here's one of them glowing happily in my custom built B15N preamp, the one I had in there before was a overly rattly and a little microphonic.

Cool - glad they're working out! BTW, disregard my PM where I asked if you got 'em yet! Steve

PIF works wonders! Jimbilly musta been happy with the 6SL7's, so he graciously offered me a spare or two outta his surplus tube collection that I could use.

Jim's a super guy and life's good...
