BadgerDave Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 I've been playing it for a day and a half and it's a monster. Light, but not featherweight, hugely resonant, very loud acoustically and the Lollar pickups sound perfectly "Stratty". The neck feels great and the setup is spot on. It was tweaked by the guys at Maken' Music and they did it right. Even more than most Strats (which IMO are the most ergonmically perfect guitars made) this one just fits my body like a custom tailored suit. The complete absence of any gloss in the finish or hardware eliminates friction at every point you touch the guitar. Really hard to put down.I knew the finish would be controversial. I like relics, but generally prefer those that are lightly distressed. This one is way over the top, even for Bill Nash. It's definitely a "statement guitar" and it works for me. I think this one is so blatantly unoriginal that no one would mistake it for a genuine old guitar. I mean, this is a reproduction of a guitar that was originally Mary Kay blond, factory refinished Fiesta Red and then painted black. Who in their right mind would do that? The pickguard and pickups look a bit less nasty in person, but I'm still going to clean them up a bit. I like fake old, but not fake dirty!
