Using a LP case for Hamer Studios/Specials/Artists

This subject has been discussed before, but I haven't seen anything specific on how to make a LP case as useful/safe for the above Hamers as the equivalent Hamer case. Caddie makes the point I'm thinking of in the below string:

I've noticed in the Hamer TKL cases that there is a small pad under the lining at the tail end of the case that seems to take care of this issue, it's about 6 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches, but not sure about the height/thickness of that pad. TKL LP cases in the exact same size don't have this pad, but pulling out the lining in order to add the padding probably isn't advisable--it's best done at the factory. Is there something simple but effective and exact that can be placed in the case to add padding? Adding something like an old t-shirt isn't always best as it's difficult to get the height and shape right. Anybody use something for extra padding that works for them as a good substitute?

Some people may not think it's a big deal, but as said in the other string, it can make a difference as far as neck support--the lower the body lays in the case, the higher the neck angle is away from the case neck cradle at the nut, and away from the neck cradle (in other words, the neck doesn't get the support needed at the nut, the neck might push against the lid if the case is closed and latched), as the middle neck support in the case (located at around the level of the 10th fret) acts as a fulcrum--a pivot point. This appears to happen because Hamers as a general rule aren't quite as thick as a Les Paul Standard or equivalent.

.

If someone has a solution (besides buying a Hamer case), please let me know. I have a TKL LP limited edition checkerboard case that I hope to use for one of my Hamers. Thanks in advance!
