Hi. As you can guess I have serious amp fever and am researching boutique amps the way that Ahab studied the white whale.

Does anyone know how the Bruno Tweedy Pie 18 compares to Clark and Victoria? The Bruno comes with a Celestion g12h speaker. The Bruno is at Eddiesguitars. Are they a good company?

Bruno is a top notch amp builder. I'm more familiar with his underground amps but played a tweedy once. Probably his own variation on a theme than an reproduction, expect great tone from his amps.

Well if you have boutique amp fever and a sufficient wad-o-cash to extinguish the fever you have certainly picked out 3 fine candidates. I live near Victoria Amps and have had an occasion to sit in the shop and noodle around on a few. Fine fine fine gear. Basically Mark takes a classic Fender amp design and builds it with the finest components and workmanship. So if that is what you are looking for, Victoria is it.

As with anything, but amps in particular, go play thru one with your own guitar (& whatever fx you use). If that's out of the question, try to buy one with a 30 day return policy. That way you can try it out at your volume levels, with your band, your setup, whatever your playing environment happens to be. That's the only sure way to know if its going to do what you want it to do to your ears.

Good luck.
