No affiliation. Got these from a friend that hangs out at some of the eBay forums. It isn't about guitars and gear, but it shows that musical instrument categories don't have a lock on nutcase bidders...

First up, a ended auction--it appears that there was a battle of the bidders, one took the lead and left it, but it also looks like the second bidder smelled blood and guessed (correctly, apparently, judging on the prior bids), that the first bidder may have inadvertently added an EXTRA digit to the bid, so the second bidder proceeds to kick it into orbit...and no, these jackets are pretty common and cheap, so no justification there. I don't think it was a shill bidder, but then again...

Second auction (still currently ongoing) is another story of two bidders--first one bids a low bid, second bidder proceeds to bid and bid and bid and bid, and yet still hasn't reached the reserve. Maybe it's a steep reserve, maybe it's a ultra-cheap bidder--I see both a lot lately:
