lonote049 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 R.L. Burnside passed away yesterday at the age of 78 in Memphis. There's also good news: Fats Domino and his family, Alan Toussaint and Gatemouth Brown are all safe. Toussaint was one of the thousands in the dome.
belgian Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 I was yesterday at a Gov't mule show in Antwerp and they played a 15 minute tribute to RL Burnside.http://www.mule.net/from_the_road/details....=05&month=09#01
Kilroy is all about... Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 R.L. BURNSIDE was one of my favorites . i blew off a foo fighter/eddie vedder gig back in '95 to caught RL open for the jonspencer bluesexplosion. then in '99, RL played a free gig at the Reno Hilton Garage and it was an awesome performance. it's straight down the line juke-joint blues. i have a excellent recording of that gig. Love the cd with the yellow cab...'come inside' another blues legend departs t he pattern... kilroy posts.
