Hamer USA pickup

Question

Posted

I have a pickup stamped "HAMER USA" on the bottom. Brass, low gloss black bobbins, standard red, green, black red, white wires. flat slugs not bevelled like the early pickups. I'm assuming it's a Dimarzio. What's odd that it measuresaccross the black white wires. anybody know about these and what the correct hookup would be?

From diMarzio.com

"For normal series-humbucking wiring, solder the black and white wires to each other and insulate that connection with tape. The red wire is the hot output and the green and bare wires go to ground, usually by soldering them to the back of a pot. If the pickup sounds "out-of-phase" when played with other pickups, use the green as hot and connect the red and bare to ground."

I have the same pickup in my Cali '88. Its red and green wires are a fake.

The white wire is ground and the black wire is the output.

P.s its resistance is 16.15 kOmh
