Mr Y Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Hi guys! Has anyone tried to put in neck position pickup Rio Grande Bladerunner? I'm looking for a pair of Bare Knuckle Nailbomb for my Cali Deluxe. Now installed DiMarzio Pro Track - but I want less muddy sound, brighter on the high notes. Thanks for your opinions
atquinn Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Haven't tried a Bladerunner, but I thnk a Dimarzio Chopper in the neck would probably get you where you want to go.-Austin
holLoWskull Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Yes as a matter of fact I have one in my Cali Elite (with a Rio Crunchbox in the bridge). Like most Rio's the bladerunner splits very well and I find the pickup works well (with my amp/cab setup YMMV). I find Rio's in general tend to have a certain tonal quality to them (they can be dark, but not muddy...if 'girth' was a noise it would be the sound of Rio Grande pickups LOL) and really respond to changes in the volume knob position. The bladerunner is no different. Certainly try it in your guitar if you have the pickup already.
