wyldbil Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 Anyone know where I can get a Schaller Sure Claw trem adjuster or two? Even though they never caught on and Schaller still makes them and has them in their online (DK) catalog, they have become rare as hen's teeth. StewMac has quit selling them, where they were $22 and AllParts wants $35 a pop to SPO them for me. $35 seems usurious to me for that particular part. ANYWAY- Anyone got one or two laying around? I have a Floyd guitar without one in it, (*shudder*) and would even like a spare or two in anticipation of eventually owning another Floyd guitar or two. Used in any condition would be fine as long as it works, because used usually= cheaper.
formula73 Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 Dude! I saw one of those in a guitar pic with somebody asking what it was...man if only I could remember who...Anyway, exactly what does it do? Is it a case of inventing a problem then solving it like the british guy on the infomercials? I thought the springs handled the tension.
wyldbil Posted February 25, 2005 Author Posted February 25, 2005 It makes the spring tension adjustable by turning a hex wrench. It is a LOT more controllable than the old claw & screw setup. I swear by them, but am now just swearing because I can't FIND any of them!
tobereeno Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 $35...a bit steep, but then, I've paid up to $55 for a single Tremsetter (Haight-Ashbury Music, San Francisco) so I know all about getting hosed for a single necessary trem part...
shred dog Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 i have seen them on ebay those things are very cool i need another one myself
