Turdus Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Need to add a second light switch to some recessed cans.Circuit power enters the first can. From there a 14/2 is sent to the switch, I assume the proper terminology is then "both wires are hot".I'd like to replace this switch with a 3 way, then run some 14/3 to an additional new 3 way.Doable? Can't find a decent diagram out there that details what I'd like to do.
Turdus Posted June 24, 2011 Author Posted June 24, 2011 Cool.. Thanks Dave.I just found this one that looks exactly like what I want to do... power source at light, switch fed from same location.Look at Config 3. Seems that all I have to do (I think) is replace my switch with the 3 way, as shown on the right side of the diagram. Then run the 14/3 to the new switch.http://www.alltopics.com/how-replace-a-3-w...ofessional.html
