zorrow Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 This "new" album looks already known to me: http://www.amazon.com/Invitation-Only-Mich...7129&sr=8-1.
Turdus Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Hmmm... one of the best guitarists on the face of the earth, and we get a cover album?Love the first 2 MSG records with Gary Barden. After that... not really. The 2 did reunite a few years back, and put out another record. Did not grab me like the first two. Could we have a return to early 80's MSG form, or is that asking for too much?

The MSG dates are with Barden, whose pipes simply do not cut it these days. Michael says as much by admiting he uses a different singer for the "Schenker" dates to do justice to the breadth of material he plays.

I hear what you are saying Dave. There was something about it that kept me from getting through a complete listen. Maybe it was the vocals, the material, the whatever. But I think I'll give it another shot... sometimes music sounds better the 2nd or 3rd time around.
zorrow Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 I actually meant this album has already been out, minus some tracks, as "Heavy Hitters" (http://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Hitters-Michae...6566&sr=1-2) and also as "Doctor, Doctor: The Kulick Sessions" (http://www.amazon.com/Doctor-Kulick-Sessio...t_mus_ep_dpi_11), which contains one extra track. Interesting, right?
