Buzzy Fretts Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 The prices being scalped are outrageous- and will continue to climb. But I managed to get through the day they went on sale. Woo. hoo! Cream's Wheel of Fire was one of the first half dozen albums that we had in the house and it saw serious rotation thoughout my formative years. I managed to see all the other bands from that early time - CSN, Johnny Winter And Live, Jefferson Airplane, Led Zep- with the exception of the Beatles and Cream. The intertwine of guitar and bass riffs on the live version of Crossroads still defines for me the possibilities of live rock jams. I am hoping that even a small piece of that spirit is still kicking around MSG next month.
Guest hectorp2 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I hope you'll give a full report after the concert.Bruce and Baker seemed to have kept their fire...Clapton has been so deliberately somnolent for so many years...I wonder if he can pull it together for the event.
Buzzy Fretts Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 Amen. I heard reports from the London reunion that Clapton indeed rocked out. But the word that comes to mind in those early leads is expolsive. The fact that they are resticting the tour to a handful of dates makes me think this aging guitarist is planning on sprinting hard when he's on stage. It will be great to see Jack Bruce on stage, period.
gregc Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I'm goin, closing night. Tix in the 200's; $165, got em when the Am Express pre-sale happened.gregc
DavidE Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I didn't know there were tickets under $200.... I thought they started at over a grand, or was that internet rumor?
Buzzy Fretts Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 Hey Greg, that's cool. I'll be there wednesday too. David, the internet rumours were started when ticket brokers listed the concert before the show went on sale. I'm not sure what those first four sections on the floor went for originally. But the section 300 tix I got cost 210 including shipping. I think the best seats originally sold for 350. Right now seats in the 1st 10 rows are scalping for 6k.
gregc Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 The front 4 sections sold for $364/ea.......gregc
