silentman Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Played this at practice last night. The singles are very quiet, even with the gain circuit engaged and lots of gain on the amp. Nice to have a true single coil guitar for stratty tones. My Daytona has vintage rails and they sound good but not quite like these Rios. The bridge has some beef, but it's different from hiumbucker beef. It doesn't fit everything I play, but it's nice to be different!
pesocaster Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Please tell me these have skiny necks so I don't have to lust after them any more....
Nuclear Wessel Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 peso, you're in luck. Flat like a shredder neck, but not quite as wide as some shredders.

silentman Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Peso, hate to break it to you but this one is a nice medium. I wouldn't consider it shredder by any means. When I think shredder, I think ibanez wizard neck.

silentman Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Well, the neck on this one is smaller than what you would find on any newish hamer. I'd say the neck is similar to my daytona, but I dont consider that one to be big either. These don't come up for sale too often, I seriously considered buying one back in April/May when hectorp let his salmon blush colored one go. My watson had just arrived and I couldn't do it then. And he was letting that one go for around $850. I think it sold on Ebay for more. There have only been a handful for sale in the past few years. When I originally bought this one (2001), there were 2 others on ebay at the time. Since then they've been scarce. Especially here at the HFC.
Nuclear Wessel Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 I really wanted hectop's too, but didn't have the funds at the time. I have played that guitar before. It's awesome. Not to mention the rarity of a solid quilt body. There have been a few for sale on E Bay in the last few months. One had a starting price of $2,500. It didn't sell. I think one did sell at $1,000 recently. Back in '99, sellers had trouble moving them at $650 on E Bay. They're getting more expensive as well as rare.
