Andrew Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 DO NOT DRILL OUT THE BLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To make a good metric replacement: One generic screw in Floyd Rose arm (M6 thread) A M6 die M6 10mm nut M6 10mm nyloc nut M6 nylon washers You have to cut the thread further up the arm to about 10mm from the top because you need a lot more thread than a Floyd arm has. Put the nut on and tighten hard right to the top of the new thread. Put on nylon washer. Thread through the hole. From the back put on another washer and then the nyloc nut and tighten to taste. The nyloc nut will not loosen and the nylon washers provide movement. EASY! You can make an imperial thread one (you funny Americans seem to call this SAE!) but you need a Kahler bass trem arm and I don't know the thread/nut size.
Steve Haynie Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Yup. Do not alter the bridge. Alter a new arm.
