Bluesking Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Up for grabs is one of the most desirable Marshalls of the last 25 years. This amp is in pretty good cosmetic condition and has just recently been completely gone through by the amp tech. Features: 1. All original components, with the exception of one capacitor. 2. Celestion G12-65s - much better than the ill-fated G12M-70s that you see in other early JCM 800s. Check Aspen Pittman's Tube Amp Book (new version) for details on the desirability of the 65s. 3. Vertical inputs 4. Fresh tubes 5. Works perfectly 6. Single channel, 50 watts 7. Serial #: 06473R Check the reviews and you'll see this amp is one of the all time classics. They are becoming quite collectable and I've seen the 1x12 version go for over $875 on Ebay on a regular basis. This amp is clearly not a museum piece, but a tool for the serious guitarist. The tone is what matters, and this amp has it. It truly is the sound of rock...period. In addition, you get the piece of mind from the recent checkup at the amp doc, since more often than not a $300 tech bill will accompany your vintage amp purchase. Not for this amp - I have a copy of the $200 amp tech bill posted in the pics below. You can run it hard all night long and not worry a bit. Plus, the cosmetic condition is just "worn" enough to look cool, but still is good shape. Perfect for setting a beer or two on during the gig and not worrying too much about it. There are a few dings and small tears in the tolex, but not much. There is a fairly large piece of tolex missing from the bottom (roughly a 5" x 3" rectangle), but the tolex piece that goes there comes with the amp if you'd like to glue it back on. Its on the bottom, so I never bothered. The metal struts on top of the amp have rust on them and don't look new, but Angus wouldn't care so I don't either. There are various minute cosmetic imperfections all over the amp, so if you want a collector's piece, move on. I'm selling this mainly because it's just too much amp for me for home use. I purchased this recently on EvilBay and it really doesn't belong in the house. This thing needs to be gigged and used for it's original purpose - no frills, loud rock. The price is $875 shipped. Payment by USPS Money Order or Paypal (you pay the fees and I accept credit cards). Shipment will be via DHL Ground. Sale is open to the lower 48 States only and I am not entertaining trades at this time. I have refs here, the Gear Page, and Ebay under "Bluesking89" (112 feedbacks - 100% positive). Good luck! Email for additional pics.
