EBMM piezo - any opinions?

I know that a solidbody with piezo pickups is always gonna be a compromise when seeking real "acoustic" tones, but I have heard some that work well enough to be useful. I also appreciate the blending of some of that tone with mags - it can really emphasize the attack of the note when that is desired.

I'm looking to improve upon one of my last remaining tonal options, that being a solidbody with 2 hums and a trem and hotter pickups, and a super-cool EBMM Axis popped up locally. It is the Rosewood model with the solid Rosewood neck and cap, and this one has the piezo option. I LOVE the feel of that solid Rosewood neck but wonder if the Piezo is worth the extra $$ that is being asked. Anyone here have direct experience with the EBMM setup, or can you tell me what might make it any different from any other system? Thanks!

One of my Albert Lees has the piezo setup. To me it sounds less "phony" than others I've heard in solid body electrics. I like the ability to blend the two signals.

It sounds like the guy in the video is using 100% piezo for the first minute and a half or so...

The only negatives I've ever heard about them is that you lose some signal if you dive bomb the trem when you're using only the piezo output. Makes sense because you're lessening the pressure of the string on the piezo element in the saddle. My piezo AL is a hardtail so I've never experienced that.

You're welcome to try mine out if you'd like...
