does replying to PMs on smartphone actually work??

I have try to reply to some PMs from my iphone emails...and I am not sure they go through, I know like facebreak and evilbay and Craiglist and such I reply to the email and it works.

Can anyone tell me if this works the same or do I have to log in to HFC and reply from my inbox only?

You have to reply to the PM, not the email.
