m chops Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 If I swapped Phat cats for the hums ('59s I think) in my Korina Vector? Thanks.
hardheartedbill Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 just did this in reverse , I would think a stronger high mid , more point to the note , stronger attack , should sound great in a resonant short scale, the cats sounded good in the Monaco , but it was a little too snappy w/ the long scale and cats, I prefered them in the short scale Newport
JJ Paul Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 Since you're planning a swap, you might as well go for something more "upscale".... Fralin, Lollar, Haeussel, VooDoo.... You should be getting a meatier tone and increased output. More violin-like sustain in the neck position. At the end of the day it's still gonna be a great guitar, just better...
