As some of you already know, I've been helping a fellow metal band from Cuba during the last two years and a half. Their name is Blinder -you might want to go check their website here:
Their sub-genre is melodic death-thrash, for those who like those categories.
Early this year we independently released a CD that was mastered by Andy LaRocque (King Diamond) and also has a guest guitar solo from Steve Smyth (ex-Nevermore, Forbidden). The album is quite good and has received very positive reviews. True metalheads absolutely love it!
Since the album was released, I've been trying to promote it and to sell it (it's in Amazon, CDBaby, iTunes...), as well as to get the band booked somewhere in North America -local festivals, as openers for other bands and such.
So far I've had little success (if any), even if I've activated several personal contacts. One main problem I'm facing is they are unsigned and in addition it's only one man (me) who runs with the expenses, as there are no sources of solid income in a country like Cuba. I've been struggling with this on my own for a while already and the lack of success, in spite of the quality material we have (both musically and as people) is slowly discouraging me.
As the HFC is like my virtual family, I didn't want at first to use it to promote the band and their music, but given I've spent a lot of time and money so far and nothing concrete appears, I guess it's time to call for some help around.
So, is there anyone here who could/is willing to lend me a hand with this band to go to the next level, no matter what it might be? They have a loyal fanbase in Cuba, they are good, they are hard workers and they don't ask for much. Any AR guy or booking agent or promoter or well-connected person who woul be willing/able to help us?
