jaberwock Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I remember seeing a few posts about Stetsbars here; I'm considering fitting one on my Les Paul, any long term users ? how does it affect the tone of the instrument ? Regards Jaberwock
burningyen Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I had one for over a year, not sure if that qualifies as long term. I liked it, a lot more than the Bigsby on my old Newport, not quite as much as a Strat trem. Eventually I ran up against its limitations in terms of up-pull, to the point where if I got too vigorous with a pull-up the entire base would suddenly fold up with a snap like a mousetrap. But if you're only going to do divebombs and mild pull-ups, it works well. I didn't notice any major effect on tone. This was with my old Reverend Gil Parris:

This was with my old Reverend Gil Parris: I was worried it was one of those "great ideas" you put on your guitar for three months, then take off, and it spends the rest of it's life in your parts draw...... I'll see if I can find one used on eBay. Thanks Jabberwock
