seeker Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 If you're talking about mass-market amps, it's probably a bit more than 200, but yes, I too believe it's the marketing and hype that get the cost up there.On the other hand, if you're talking boutique" amps, that's an entirely different ballgame. 1) Lower quantities means lower savings on parts and labor and 2) some high-end transformer sets will cost you more than 200 (no matter the quantity). Is there an escalation factor on both, the first definitely, and the second depends if it's their sole source of income or not.
