Travis Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Don't know how much love I will get here for this pickup, but I'll give it a go. Seymour Duncan Dimebucker with full factory lead in great shape. It's a cool pickup, but it's just not for me. I've been evolving my tastes toward lower output pickups. Will sell for $60 shipped USPS Priority or will consider trades for PAF type humbuckers. Thanks for looking.
atquinn Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Where is this thing on the bright-dark scale (for example, is is brighter or darker than a JB)? -Austin
Travis Posted January 2, 2006 Author Posted January 2, 2006 It is way more scooped than the JB. The JB has that upper mid spike that really makes it seem overly bright to me. The Dimebucker has tons of low end chunk and tons of treble to cut through on those leads. It is great for metal riffs and ripping leads. However, I tend to play leads with my neck pickup, and I love more mids in a pickup. Plus, since I've been going more towards lower output pickups, my Distortions have been covering my high output pickup needs.I would say it has the low end of the Invader without being as dark. And it has the highs of the JB without being as bright.
wyldbil Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I have a zebra Duncan Custom. Might that interest you at all?
Travis Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 Sure, what the hell. I've only tried the 7 strng Custom in my old Ibanez RG1527. I'll give it another whirl if you're interested in a trade. Is it standard or tremspaced?
wyldbil Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 >>>Is it standard or tremspaced? <<<Unsure. How do I tell? I know that's probably a big "duh" somehow, but...Anyway, e-mail me your address, and we'll get a-rollin'!
