bobbymack Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Here is my beloved V12R, one of THE best grab and go combo amps ever imho. Very toneful, simple, and LOUD. This is not the common model with 10" speaker and no reverb, this has a Celestion G12 V30 that sounds superb, and can cut thru virtually any band mix, believe me. This model is getting EXTREMELY hard to come across, they almost never show up on ebay. Them that gots 'em, keeps 'em... The V12R has Volume, Tone, and Reverb knobs, a pentode /triode switch, and a bright switch, that's it. This one is loaded with a matched pair of NOS EL84 power tubes: a Mullard (Blackburn) and a USA Philips grey plate (Emporium PA). The preamp tubes are NOS Telefunken and GE 12AX7s. This is honestly one of the best sounding amps I've ever played, and nothing touches it for the money imho...their great reputation is well deserved. There is also a custom made power tube clamp installed which was made by Shane of British Audio Service, and eliminates the tube rattle which was a fairly common issue with these amps when cranked. The notorious Velocette transformer issue only affected the first run of the 10" non-reverb models, this amp has no functional issues at all. A few minor tolex scuffs, and the seams show some slight peeling back / shrinkage. I am the original owner, and sell only because I own a Kingsley Deluxe 30... $625 shipped in lower 48 with the NOS tubes, $550 if you want new Sovteks...

I know ....i've exchanged dollars for such wonderful pieces as the 'statesboro blues' licks, DICKEY BETTS LESTER and a 'cannot believe that's 15 watts' BAD CAT CUB tube amp with those tasty NOS tubes of joy. kilroy posts in support of operation BM-3
