Styx's "Brave New World": Got-Taw-Mitey, what a great song!

Can't believe I overlooked the live version of this one on the At The River's Edge album (recorded in 2000, released in 2002). Pulled that CD (among others I'd neglected, like Mike Oldfield's Songs of the Distant Earth) out for a trip to Little Rock a few weeks ago, and when this song piped thru the Sorento's sound system, the hair stood up on the back of my neck. Styx is known for excellent harmony vocals, but the chant/choir-like bridge before the chorus and the harmony on the chorus itself are most likely, for me, the best thing I've ever heard that band perform.

Bonuses on the video include Todd Sucherman throwing a helluva right cross to one of his cymbals at around the 2:45 mark (last crash/punch before it cuts away), and Glen Burtnik's pirouettes with his bass at the five-minute mark.

Enjoy. I sure did

Can't believe
