Jimbilly Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 I went to a 'garage sale' at a local music store, I was expecting disappointment, but found some output jacks in the packages, some small parts, a bbe rack mount bass preamp for $50 (I've always wanted to try one), and a '70s Fender orange label Utah 12" speaker. The connector was broken off of the frame, and there was just the loose 2 wires coming out of the cone, but the cone moved smoothly, it came home. I have some small random speakers I pulled out of organs and could never throw away, one 4 incher became the donor for the connector and some extra lead wire. After some tricky soldering (for me anyway), it's up and running, in an old Hilgen combo that I had redone as a bassman type pre and ac15 type power section, and so far it sound really great!
