Lockbody Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I'm selling off a bunch of stuff I never use anymore including my Boss GT-8, and since I've got a stereo setup with my Triaxis, I'm thinking of getting one. From reading around HC, people who own one say there's no comparison to the G-Major.Is this true? The biggest reason I've stayed away from rackmounted stuff in the past is the fact that the lower-end stuff usually sounds... well... lower-end. Especially for stuff like pitch shifting which, I like playing with, but is always too cheesy to use live with the cheaper stuff.Anybody else have/had a Lexicon MPX-G2 that they'd care to comment on too?
Rockola Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Jisham gigged one for a while but eventually moved it. IIRC, it was a catharsis from a new primo amp. A move toward simplicity.j?S.

I know in a recent post he made mention of having a G-Major. If he's had both I sure like to hear his take on the differences.Jaye?
AdmiralB Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 This is the only board I know of where most of the controversy seems to be started by the admins.
Lockbody Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 Is this really that controversial? Yeah, I know... Wrong thread,
sonja Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I do own a G-Force, but can´t really comment on the G-Major. There are some obvious differences though: the user interface for example. The G-Force has a large graphical display and you have very easy access to the endless possibilities of the machine. You can for example place the effects like on a schematic, add controllers to parameters and make up very personal effects combinations that are not possible on other devices. To my knowledge the G-Major doesn´t even have so many possibilities. The quality of the effects on the whole is superbe and the pitch shifting (intelligent 2-voice with standard or custom scales) is much better than other effects devices I know. Compared to my GT-6 they are really worlds apart with regards to pitch shifting. If you are used to the G-Force and go back to the GT-6 you will find the GT-6 is plainly unusable (I guess the GT-8 is similar). If you like to make your very own effects or love pitch effects, get the G-Force. It´s worth it.
Lockbody Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 Thanks Sonja. I pulled the trigger on a G-Force this morning and should have it by Friday. There's a several GT-8s on eBay right now, otherwise it would already be on there.
