Slammer Pickups

Hi all,

Hope you can help - stemming out of my TLE post, I realised that I don't know much about the pickups that are installed - so I wanted to appeal to the members - Installed are 2x SC and 1xHB in the bridge.

Anyone have any info or experience of these, and how they compare to the big twos offerings (SD/Dimarzio)?

Specs and characteristics gratefully recieved!

Hope you can help!

Ben.

Hamer Slammer humbuckers were made by DiMarzio and are slightly hotter PAF's.

They came stock on Hamer guitars from the early 80's (81, I think) to the early 90's (91 or 92).

However, I know nothing about the specs --maybe Austin can tell us about frequency response and resistance measures?

Many thanks for the info - I'll compare it (as closely as poss - not withstanding construction, sting condition, pickup height etc) with my EBMM Silhouette -which I believe comes with the stock PAF Pros -

Are the Single Coils also Slammer branded Dimarzio pickups made for Hamer - or are they something different? - they have very long pole pieces that protrude a fair way out of the bottom of the bobbin - to me they have a rather articulate sound.

Thanks again for your help!

singles are D'Marzio's as well. same as in the Phantoms (at least in mine). Great Pup set. If you dont like and pull them, let me know...

I do like the SCs in the TLE - however - somewhere with my spares - I have got a spare unit that came out of my old Cali - If I can find it!

I was supprised how good they were when I first played my Cali - now I'm enlightened as to what it was!

I'll let you know if I can find the little bugger!

Cheers,

B
