Was this move the evolution of the Hamer brand from the best-built journeyman instrument available, to something more in line with marketing of the instruments as the fine and collectible guitar that they also were? I wonder which models didn't survive the move, and it seems there was a new generation of Hamer's that followed the move that were the equal of any custom or designer instrument on the market. I know the bolt-ons didn't make it. I wonder about the Specials. Pete Davis

I see these on the auction and sale sites. Some have a scarf joint and some do not. What is the quality of these third world "Hamer" Juniors? Pete Davis

I know they were Duncans. Any idea just which ones? Mine have been switched out but I am looking at another guitar. PD

OK I just donated, finally. PayPal recognized the email address [email protected] Pete Davis in VA.

Thanks for this. I bought the mono version, not the 90, absolutely perfect and the clean boost is a nice added feature. Much appreciated. Pete Davis in VA.

I put a Fralin P-90 equivalent or what Lindy calls the Split Pole Steel Strat on the bridge. The others are a Duckbucker at FB and Staggered Strat at center. Pete Davis

What's a good power supply for this volume pedal?

Nice. They're now making a compact model the (S) but I think I'd just get what you have-it would fit the foot better I suspect. Thanks for this update-I didn't even know about these. Volume swells from the guitar are sometimes imperfect. This may be the answer. Pete Davis

Which volume? They make a Mono Volume S and a Mono Volume, among others.

Here's to a full recovery from this vascular setback. Age is a long slow march into enemy territory! The healing potential of the human body is incredible. Please keep all of us updated as you continue to improve. You will. Pete Davis in Virginia

Joel Dantzig has a signed pic from Campbell thanking him for making this custom guitar, and stating that it is one of the best guitars that he had ever played. He used it right up to the end. Pete Davis

Hey Steve. Not so-the color in the pics from the auction misleads a little bit. It's a TV lacquer with less pigment, there is the greenish takeoff around the neck heel and other places where the color settled better. Pete Davis PS. It plays like a dream Special should!

Original finish. Less color floated in the lacquer I guess. Neck has lots of meat on it! PD.

Had to have it. I bought this from Parkway Music in New York. If it got here any faster it would have evaporated. PD
