If you want more of an LP vibe you should probably head toward a Monaco Elite or a Studio/Studio Custom rather than a Special. The P-90 Artist like you have is very cool too! Need to get me one of those.

I have a HFH in the neck of a Tele and like it quite a bit. Has kind of a wide, overgrown Strat vibe. Responds well to a tone control too for a rolled off jazz thing.
