woodpile Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Genz Benz El Diablo 100C for sale in excellent ++ condition (very low hours/near new). I am selling this for a friend who offered it to me because it was too much amp for him. Unfortunately, its too much amp for me too. I've had it for a little while and have been able to get a great variety of sounds from it. Check out the links for more info. Email me for pics (I'll get some over the weekend). Price is $975.00 plus shipping.http://genzbenz.com/?fa=detail&mid=1404&sid=416&cid=91http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data...2_Combo-01.html
woodpile Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 (bump for price mod)Seller is motivated and will accept reasonable offers. These list for around $2,000 with an average street price of around $1,500 or so. Has all the same features as the El Diablo Head. Amp will come with all original paperwork (including warranty card), casters and footswitch. Definitely a great gigging amp.
Scooter Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I've got a couple questions - cuz I'm interested. #1 Will it take stereo efx in the loop?#2 Can it do "old school" metal at bedroom levels?
woodpile Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 Scooter, I'll have to confirm that the effects loops can take stereo affects but I think they can. As for metal at bedroom levels, it does have a 50W setting, master volume and a very wide gain range that IMO gets to metal and beyond at lower volumes. I found that it needs to be turned up around 2 (2 being just at the edge of ok BR level for me) to get really good tones. It actually has a better range of gain tones at low volumes than my Univalve had. Hope that helps.
Scooter Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I have a Genz Benz G-Flex cab. It's wired for true stereo operation. I use my Mesa 50/50 power amp and my Boss GT-8 and get all kinds of tasty stereo sounds. If the 100C/GT-8 can be run similarly, I might sell off my amp/cab in favor of your combo. Does that make sense?
woodpile Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 My friend was running his pod xt live through it and it sounded unreal. He used the clean channel. I think your GT-8 would sound just as good (or better). Supposedly, the speaker cab for the 100c is similar to their reflex cabs.
Scooter Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 The GT-8 can do the "two-amps-at-once" trick. You know, a clean JC-120 out the left speaker while a full-blown Rectifier comes out the right. It's a cool effect that I don't want to lose. So the 100C would have to have a true stereo effects loop.
woodpile Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 I can't find anywhere where the effects loop is listed as a stereo loop. So I'd have to assume it wouldn't work for you.
Scooter Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Hey Woodpile,Is the amp still available? If so, what's the delivered price nowadays? Thanks!b
