FS - Hamer Mirage II Koa Top

Really nice Mirage II in good shape. Has some wear from existing in the world for 30+ years like minor dents and some swirl marks but nothing major. The frets are in great shape and were recently crowned and polished. The Koa top has great 3D depth and its always tough to capture them in photos compared to maple tops IMO. The nut has been replaced with polished unbleached bone. The pickups are Tonerider Birminghams, which are quite nice PAF-style humbuckers. Push-pull on the tone pot splits the coils. This guitar didn't have a case when I got it but it will ship in a gig bag and be well packed. 

$1499 plus shipping depending on location. It probably won't be expensive. Would also consider trades for other Hamers.

Nice looking Mirage II. Love me some Mirages. 

For those who don’t know, the bodies on the Mirage II’s (and maple tops) are slightly thicker than the bodies on the Mirage I’s. This along the the dual humbuckers beefs up the sound a bit and brings it closer to that of a LP style guitar compared to the more big strat sound of the Mirage I. The II’s still have a bit more snap than a traditional LP with their 25.5” scale and vintage trem. But, they’re a great in-between.

In my experience, with different pickups and an upgraded bridge (I put the MannMade in my koa mirages), you have a real PRS killer for less $.

I didn't know about the body thickness difference on these. I've not played a I but Im guessing its probably a bit more like a PRS in that sense. Every time I shoot a demo video with my II the body looks crazy thick on camera. Its definitely a chunky guitar without being heavy.
