Need More Details About Thread Popup/New Tab Behavior

RE: report that the following thread may be opening a popup or launching a new tab/page unexpectedly:

"Cool pics you took or ran across, or just plain wtf's?"

I have not been able to reproduce the behavior myself, so I need more information to track it down.

If you're seeing the issue, please reply with:

• Desktop or mobile?
• Browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, etc.)
• Are you logged in or viewing as a guest?
• Does it happen every time or only occasionally?
• What page of the thread were you viewing?
• What exact URL opens in the new tab/window?
• A screenshot if possible.

Also, please let me know whether:

• The new tab opens immediately when the page loads.
• It happens after scrolling.
• It happens after clicking an image.
• It happens after clicking anywhere inside a post.

The more specific information you can provide, the faster I can isolate the cause.

I had it happen once right after it came back online.  Mac OS Tahoe and latest Safari. Or it could have been on my iPhone with latest OS and Safari.  Don't remember for sure now.  I use both all the time.

 

Pretty sure 

• The new window opens  when scrolling.  I don't use Tabs.

I still think there may be some bot issues like i mentioned back in March. https://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/105363-hfc-performance-issue-the-details-if-interested/page/2/#comment-1189351

A few minutes ago, there were 31 pages of mostly 'guests' looking at the board. They weren't all looking at mostly the same thread this time, but it was obviously excessive. I checked again just now and it was like 4 pages, a lot more 'normal'.
