LIke New, I purchased it to try in an amp and give Alnico another run. I’m still a Ceramic Guy if guess. NO rips, Tears, Dings, Cone Noise, its like new.

$200 Shipping and Paypal included in the lower 48.

Never heard of it, but that's not surprising. The description sounds ideal:

"The alnico-magnet Ruby 12" aims to combine a bit of heralded “chime” from Celestion’s popular alnico 15-watt Blue model with the vintage-rock attitude of its 90-watt alnico Cream model in a 35-watt unit for mid-powered combos."

Sort of a kicked up Blue with higher power handling capability? Like I said, sounds ideal.

From Premier Guitar's review:

"With the Ruby, both amps lost a smidgen of volume, thump, and snappy articulation—a predictable result with a lower power rating and a softer-responding alnico magnet—but they also gained a more forgiving feel and some lovely natural compression. This instantly made both combos not only sound more “classic” and broken-in, but also imbued settings that had previously seemed either lackluster or strident with lustrous new life. Put another way, the Ruby mellowed each amp a tad, but there was still plenty of growl and zing—and I never encountered any of the grating, overwhelmed-sounding harshness that many alnico-magnet speakers get when pushed hard."

Great Sounding Speaker, I think that a “Kicked up Blue” is a good match for what it is. For those you like a Blue, but are afraid of blowing it up, this is pretty much perfect. I dig it, but it’s not what I’m looking for with this particular amp.

I think it’s the best priced Ruby on the net, and it needs a good home BUMP.

I had to double back on this post. What do you mean you haven’t hear of it? Have you been under a rock? LOL

Players have been in LOVE with the blues since the 60’s, and they have also been shredding them ever since.

Blue 15 watts: The alnico of the Greenback in a lot of ways but not as much power handling and when subjected to volume or power sounds amazing right up to the point where its fails.

Ruby 35 watts: If you want the compression of the blue, but with more power handling for your 1x12 combos or extention cabs. This one is the ticket, it has the right amount of heft, but also the right amount of compression that will get you that classic Blue tone, but tougher and more durable.

Gold 50 watts: More midrange, more clarity, brighter, and with less compression. Great mix with a more laid back speaker like the G12H30.

Cream 90 watts: Full sounding, great midrange, allows medium powered amps to do more of the work and project through an Alnico filter. Does a lot of things great.

I have had them all, the Ruby is my favorite, because the low / mid powered amps just love it and it has the vintage compression, RNR vibe, with toughness to handle the gig. It’s the “Sweetspot” if you ask me, and I think that is what they were going for.
