devastone Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Looking for a USA Diablo or Centaura as a backup for my current Diablo. Let me know what you have and what you are looking to get for it. I have a white US Fender HM Strat with maple board (like the one Greg Howe used to play) that I would consider trading, or we can work out Paypal, whatever. I'm new here, I just discovered the joys of Hamers, even if I do like the ones with sissy bars I can provide references. Thanks, Roger
marcnorth Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 here's one. he also has a white one for sale.http://cgi.ebay.com/Hamer-1990-Red-Centaur...1QQcmdZViewItem
SirDouglas Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 thanks marc... i sold the diablo already... but have a white cent and a red one... lemme know if yer interested after you look at it on ebay... its on here too somewhere... Randy
devastone Posted June 13, 2006 Author Posted June 13, 2006 Yep, I've got those on my watch list! Unfortunately the Diablo went shortly after I found it. I'm on the fence with the red Cen, sparkle red isn't my first choice in color so that would be a strip and tung oil project. The white is cool, it would be cooler without the stickers, LC's sigs are kinda cool in a old school rock sorta way (they were one of my favorite bands in the day) but not sure it is worth the extra price to me (it may be to others though), I am currrently the high bidder on it anyway but I know I'm not near the reserve, just wanted to keep the auction moving!Last night I found a minty trans red Diablo, it's still red, but the trans is much more appealing than sparkle. It's also cheaper, if that falls through I'll look at one of Randy's Cens more seriously! There is also a sunburst Cen with maple neck at www.musicgoround.com, they called it a Diablo, but it's a Cen. Pretty rare color/f'board combination too, at least by what I've seen. Randy, if you have a bottom line price including shipping to CO, 80516 for yours (through Paypal), shoot me an e-mail and let me know, I'm not trying to low ball you at all, so I'll let you get back to me. I do need to let this other guy know about the Diablo by this afternoon. I thought I'd throw out some feelers here in addition to my search. I'm blown away by the quality of the Diablo I just picked up and want another to keep tuned down 1/2, I hate changing tunings on floating trems. I also like to keep my floating trems floating. Thanks guys, nice forum you've got here!Roger

devastone Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 Me thinks some medication may be in order here. If it makes you feel better, I won't touch the finish on the Diablo I bought... But some colors should have never been put on guitars and are now by-products of the 80s I will say that sparkle red isn't that bad, but dayglo colors should be banished FWIW, I'm just kidding for the most part, but I lived through the dayglo era, and glad it's behind me, not to mention, at my age, it's just wrong.
