ArnieZ Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 1984 cherry es 335 dot re-issue, in excellent shape considering age, but overall very good. Neck is straight, frets are good no playability issues. Neck profile is the '59 and the guitar has the long neck tenon. Guitar is all original with Gibson HSC, don't know if the case is original. The guitar is on the lighter side for a 335 but I don't know the weight. This guitar is essentially Historic specs. there is one small ding/indentation on the neck plus the usual pick marks, 2 small finish cracks on the back. Asking $2000 including shipping to lower 48 and paypal charges. If you want more or different pics, I can provide them. ArnieZ
bobbymack Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Nice one.If any of you guys are looking for a 335, these early '80s ones are great guitars. I have an '82 that may be the best playing guitar I own (I did have it refretted, orignal frets were pretty small). This was Gibson's first attempt at reissuing the late '50s 335...ToneQuest wrote them up about a year or so ago as great values in the 335 market.Bump for a sweet guitar...

bobbymack Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 bobbymack,If you have a copy or can scan that article, I'd love to read it!ArnieZ Arnie, It was 10/04 issue, I don't have a scanner though sorry...Nothing really earth shaking in the article except that they felt these 335s compared favorably to much of the stuff coming out of Gibby's Custom Shop since the late 90s, and is cheaper...
ArnieZ Posted July 20, 2006 Author Posted July 20, 2006 Bump! You guys got something against plywood guitars? This is a great playing and sounding guitar.ArnieZ
