RobB Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Cleaning out the extras, y'know...Bought this a coupla years ago from Analogman. Pricey new ($369+ shpg). On the block for $280, including USPS Priority Mail. Excellent/NM condition, with a 1/16" nick by the on/off switch. Includes manual and 18v power supply.Sounds killer, great for "House Burning Down", "Are You Gonna Go My Way" analog flanging. More than I need, but am sorry to see it go. flyingv AT sbcglobal DOT net...Description: An all-analog (BBD) flanger that is capable of Though-Zero-Flanging. All conventional flangers sweep up and down, but never over the top. In order to go over the top, their delay chips would have to be capable of negative delay, which means traveling into the future! By skipping over the threads in the fabric of time, Paradox TZF is capable of doing what no other flanger pedal can do: Through-Zero-Flanging. With Paradox TZF, you don't need to manipulate the speeds of multiple playback decks during mix-down in order to get the elusive "Through-Zero-Flanging" effect.Through Zero Flanger (TZF)... Paradox TZF, from Foxrox Electronics is the first and only flanger pedal SPECIFICALLY designed to take full advantage of "Through-zero-flanging". This is the sound that flanger pedals were originally meant to duplicate, but failed at. In many ways, Paradox TZF can be thought of as the first and only real flanger pedal. The point at which the sweep crosses over-the-top is the most interesting part, and now you can enjoy it in all it's glory. Finally, a flanger that truly delivers the essence of vintage tape flanging.Envelope control... It's incredible, you can get it to flange up, down and over the top with the dynamics of your playing. It's very trippy - you can also get an erratic bubbling flange sound that is very similar to low quality mp3 compression - it's great. A sound that's similar to that jet plane flange you hear at outdoor concerts when it's windy out and you're walking by the side of the stage. Or a twisted cassette tape when the felt pad falls out of place. This thing is unlike any other flanger. The envelope control feature is cool because it gets rid of the annoying repetitious sweep that gives flangers a bad name.Compared to other flangers... Conventional flangers rely heavily on the regeneration sound, that tubular twisting sound, to make up for the fact that they can never flange right over the top. And then they sweep down really far for the same reason. Not Paradox TZF. Yes, it can get the tubular sound and it can sweep low, but your ears will have orgasms as it sweeps right over top, and then sweeps back again. Add pedal control, envelope control, and stereo outputs into the mix...this is what flanging is all about...The ultimate signal switching... Like Captain Coconut, Paradox TZF uses audio relays to do all the signal switching. A pair of relays are used to provide TRUE BYPASS for both outputs A and B. The relays are designed to switch audio signals, unlike the high-current foot switches used on most effects. Basic, high-quality SPST foot switches are used for unparalleled signal switching reliability. No sob stories about failing foot switches...Applications... Paradox TZF isn't limited to just guitar. You can use it to process just about anything. Drum machines sound incredible through it. Use it for incredible flanging effects in dance mixes. Use it on keyboards. Use it on background vocals. The unique filtering that you get with analog delay lines is perfect for injecting a vintage vibe into any mix.
edgar_allan_poe Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Hands down, the baddest assed flanger on the planet. If you dig sounds like The Confessor from Joe Walsh, and Keep yourself alive from Queen, you NEED this flanger. I miss mine dearly and it will be one of the first things I buy once I get a few paychecks under the belt.
RobB Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 I miss mine dearly and it will be one of the first things I buy once I get a few paychecks under the belt. So, errrrm, do you get paid weekly or bi-weekly? Seriously, though, I'm currently sick of fukkin w/eBay, so if the TZF languishes on the FS board for a while, contact me.
