GusS Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 looking for a reissue Phantom pickguard (no neck pickup). Can also trade a Phantom Custom pickguard (tortoise or white pearl) for it.also anyone know if they're interchangeable w/ prototype p/g's?
serial Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I have a Phantom body with an original Prototype guard on it in my project pile. The guard from the original Proto seems to work nicely. Might have to trim the neck pocket though-they weren't a "one size fits all" even in the 80s. Same with the original Phantoms. I've had two '85 Phantoms made a week apart where the guard on one didn't fit the other (neck cut mostly).
