dangravano Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 I'm looking for a backup guitar while my Cloud 9 L.P. is being aged at RS Guitarworks. I love the way the Korina Artist looks, however I never played one. Love phat sounds, I'm a big fan of Gov't Mule. My amps are a Voodoo Lab Plexie & a Mojive Plexie. I see on Gbase some Mahg. Artists for 1,179.00. Is that a good guitar & price or should I be looking someplace else? Right now I'm without a guitar & its killing me.
sw686blue Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Mahogany Artists are awesome guitars! If you should have only one guitar, it should definitely be the MA imo. On the used market, you should easily pick one up in near mint condition for no more than $750.

I love the early 50's gibson necks.

I love the early 50's gibson necks.None of the Artist will have a neck as big as a 50's Les Paul. They will be a little bigger than the 60's Les Paul though. Or if they are out there, they were custom ordered.

Jaya Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I might have Artist KORINA w/3 P90 in excellent +++ condition for sale. Very versatile guitar, not thin neck at all (but not fat as 50's Gibson). Send me an email if you are interested. Thanks,Jaya
marcus2 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I also have an Artist Korina for sale, but with the original humbuckers. It has Hamer's bigger neck, and is in new condition. The body is 1 piece, and gorgeous. Pictures: Let me know if you are interested. Marc
tubesrus Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 [i had to sell a korina artist because I couldn't adjust to the neck, which was a bit more clubby then my 25th anniversary. I' have a deal pending on the 25th,I hope to find an rtist with a rwal thin neck. I remember playing one with a maple top and it had a thin neck but he frets were a lot lower then my 25th, I need a thin neck and fairly tall frets. The studio I recieved last week has a real skinny neck, I can play it for hours without any strain on my injured wrist.

Buster Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Marcus...whatchya doin' selling all of those fine instruments???? That one is really nice...
marcus2 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Buster,I'm selling for two reasons that really combine to one:1) I had a mountain biking accident this summer where, basically, all my weight and that of my bike fell onto my left hand. Precisely, my left index finger. I'm lucky not to have shattered it. However, it took almost the whole summer to rehab it. Now that I'm more or less OK again, I've relalized that though I used to like big necks on my guitars, now skinnier necks are much easier to play. It must be a function of the nature of the injury and how my rehab went. I am so grateful that I can still play. I was worried for a while. This has combined with2) Though I consider my Hamers to be functional art, and love the idea of a collection, they are too good to sit in a case for me to play here and there. So, I'm slowly selling a few hoping that they find a good home. Marc
