Lockbody Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 No shortage of people on this board to tell you how good these two pickups sound in a Standard.Went with the zebra Air Classic/Breed from my Mirage, and double cream is too much in that blue guitar, so these gotta go. Someone before me wired them kinda different than Dimarzio's standard red/green hot and white/black soldered together (White/black hot/ground on these), but I'm not sure what kind of change that makes. Lots of lead.$75.00 shipped CONUS Paypal and Postal MO please
jujisque Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 I've never heard of these pickups. Who makes them? What kind of output? Tone? Gimme some info please.
Lockbody Posted May 1, 2005 Author Posted May 1, 2005 Dimarzio makes 'em. Closest Seymour Duncan would be the '59 I guess. To me, it makes the '59 kinda seem dull.Output:bridge 226mV 8.62k neck 206mV 8.34k
AdmiralB Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 If those came out of the '95 Standard, I was the one who wired them. It doesn't matter which pair of wires you use as hot/ground - red/green or white/black. The only difference would be if you wire up a coil cut, you are then determining which coil gets cut. It's true for all humbuckers. Duncan says to use green/black for hot and ground, but you can use white/red too. It gets important if you're cutting coils and need to have a certain position or polarity active.BTW, if I were comparing to the Duncan line I'd say these are closest to Pearly Gates.

AdmiralBYep, the '95.Yeah, after looking on Dimarzio's site, it didn't look like it matter which way it was wired. Just going for that "full disclosure" thingy. Thanks for the Pearly Gates comparo. That's one pickup I've never owned.
