PastorPaul Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Very cool! I hope the Estey I sent you turns out well.
Caddie Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 great amps. I had one. One of those "I regret selling". The Magnatone vibrato is something that you need to hear, words don't descirbe it. I don't think there ia an amp & pedal combination that duplicates it. Buy this one if you have the cash. You will not be disappointed. If you don't like the sound you'll be able to flip it easily. These amps are always in demand, especially the ones with orig speakers like alpep's. If you take good care of it, you won't lose money on it. If you hold on to it for a few years you'll come out ahead. Supply keeps going down, demand stays firm = mo money mo money mo moneynoonan
alpep Posted October 25, 2007 Author Posted October 25, 2007 Paul hopefully I will find out soon on that amp. Caddie I could not have said it better myself.
PastorPaul Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I traded an old Magnatone Estey to Al that needs some work. The vibrato and tremelo on that amp are sweet. I bought a Diaz Tremodillo pedal last year to try to replicate some of those sounds, and it didn't come close. It was a bad thing to accidentally kick the amp with the reverb on, and everyone who has worked with spring reverb understands.
luiss Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 It´s a very nice amp Alpep, how much it weights?
alpep Posted October 25, 2007 Author Posted October 25, 2007 I have not put it on a scale but would guess 50-65 lbs
alpep Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 I have someone on the hook but I have not yet finalized the deal. infamous cash flow, ask my wife, don't need another amp, not sure if I want to gig with it, etc etc etc etc problem.
