Teh Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Good call, Bruce. that's one of the oldest scams out there - Pay $400 for a $1600 guitar, then disappear. I would've told him to take a hike too...With Bruce not shipping until he is paid in full? How does that scam work?Yeah, according to his plan, I don't ship until he's paid in full. However, 3 months is WAY to long to deal with someone I don't know. He'll either come up with the cash, or not. The con artist sends the $400, then convinces you that he's good for the money but needs the guitar for a very important gig. The gig means the difference between slumming in the bar circuit or getting a record deal. Blah blah blah... You ship, he gets the guitar, then disappears... That's how it works...Only an idiot would fall for that and BruceM is clearly not an idiot. No doubt Bruce wouldn't (and didn't) fall for it. However, it's not unusual for the con to work. Check out some of the other scams that guys talk about on the forums -- this shit happens all the time...
