MARKVECTOR82 Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Item number: 140212312491http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:IT&ih=004 A VERY used Vintage 1982 Hamer Vector Guitar for those of you who know this guitar was made in Arlington Heights Illinois (Hamerville) I am the third owner of this well played, great playing and sounding guitar. The first owner I did not know the second I was with when he purchased the guitar from the old "We Buy and Trade" on 48th street in NYC in 1983 (he was a student of mine and loved all of my Hamers so he decided to get one of his own. when he moved away to college he sold it to me) that’s when it hit the road with the rest of my Hamer clan. From 1986 to 1991 this guitar was played at every venue from Hammer jacks in Maryland to the LA Forum in California.Until one day my tech dropped the guitar leaving a crack in the headstock just between the nut and the tuners. Believe it or not it still stayed in tune but I was afraid to use it in fear of a total loss so I retired the guitar and sent it home. I did not touch the guitar again until 2004 when I met an excellent luthier on LI (Ed Clark) who said he could fix the neck as new so $300 later I was amazed (Take a look a the Pics) with the exception of the missing truss rod cover the front and especially the back of the neck (where the crack was) looks great and is solid as a rock. Stays in tune intonates great and sounds Hamer Cool! Now the Stats- Pickups- Bridge - Dimarzio X2N I think. original from the factory Neck- Dimarzio PAF original from the factory Sustain Block Bridge Schaller tuners all original Comes with original factory case in good condition The sound is bright with highs that cut through especially during solos The guitar was rewired with new pots that matched the originals. Please check out the pics this guitar was a major road dog with lots of miles but lots of MOJO! So there is a lot of Hameritis (weather checking) right now it is strung lefty but switch it over and you are good to go. This vintage baby should not disappoint and with Fender acquiring the Kaman group these babies may go the way of the Edsel. if you have any questions give a HollerI will only accept bids from ebayers with 10 or more positive feedbacks if you have two negative feedbacks in the last 6 months please do not bid I will reject itI only accept Pay Pal so please do not ask for any other payment options. Sorry but it has gotten like the wild west in ebay ville as of late.Peace
