  1. Not a fan of those 57 classics. Their natural frequency response jack the high mids and makes nearly all pedals and amps sound bad to me. Start with a Duncan 59 neck as a standard starting place, they’re cheap, consistent and easy to find. I like em used with nickel covers. The SG that I gig with came with 57 classics, sounded bad, I replaced with a set of SD 59s, now sounds good. Good luck 👍
  2. Haha I know right?! That looks like a beautiful example and somebody here will be very happy 😊
  3. Either using only one ear bud, In this case I only put my guitar and vocal and nothing else in my ears so I have extra of that, and one ear open to everything on stage- this works best if I’m singing a lot. or adding ambience mics and only routing them to in-ears; many bands I work with add two mics placed at the edge of the stage pointed at the crowd (2x sm57 or cheap mic on low stand, knee height) and only route to in-ears (not FOH). You can also use just one, of any type of mic- it’s just for your comfort, not the house mix or out front. This gives you a controllable amount of “live room” in your mix to counteract isolation. Any ?s lmk 🤘😎
  4. Dang! Missed this post and am in the market for one. Anyone looking to flip, or trade for microblock and pedals, Lmk!
  5. Sometimes side effects become the point; what became Viagra was initially tested to lower women’s blood pressure, seriously. In the primary testing the control portion of men experienced the side effect it’s known for and it was refocused, rebranded and marketed. Diphenhydramine Hydrocloride is another of my favorite examples; it’s used for radically different OTC meds depending on packaging: it’s the ONLY active ingredient in Benadryl (Allergy medicine), Dramamine (motion sickness), and ZzzQuil (Sleep Aid). Do with this neurospicy info what thou wilt. 🤷🏼‍♂️😂 I will say from experience that 5-hour energy shots are awful for playing. Idk if it’s the overdose of B vitamins, or the megadose of caffeine, or the combo, but it cramped my hand and arm muscles to a near palsy at a theater show once, and never again for me. And I love both caffeine and dehydration!
  6. Tension is lower and bending is easier on shorter scale. Hamers are 24 3/4” scale (Gibson scale, like LPs and SGs), strats and teles are 25.5” (Fender scale). Interestingly PRS are designed to be in the middle at 25”. You May like 9s on your fenders and 10s on your Hamers and Lps. For my working strats and teles I got conversion necks so they’re 24 3/4” too and I generally use DAddario 10s on everything. ETA: my comments were to generally address fretting hand issues, and the OP mentioned picking hand issues; relax your grip on the pick and practice the basic motion of picking the string, and try to avoid tensing up as you jam out. Ymmv Good Luck!
  7. Fave line: “it can make your playing sound more attractive.” That’s some handsome tone ya got there bro 😎
  8. The vxt is a hybrid that comes at it from the opposite side from the Duotone, design-wise; the DT was designed as an electric guitar with the best electrified acoustic sound, and the vxt was designed for acoustic players going toward electric. Wacky scale length too, but some may love it.
  9. Or…OR! An evil corporation that sells lifetime warranties that kill you so they don’t have to pay out. 😎 Dont buy that bag Bro
  10. Please take pics and give us a report!
  11. So famous they’re IN-famous! Hahaha 🤣 like the Three Amigos- “Oh Dusty… this El Guapo, he’s not just famous….”
  12. Dude is a monster!
  13. Make sure you don’t have your phone in your pocket. First thing that causes interference with cheaper transmitters. And don’t leave it on your amp lol Shure and Sennheiser are the most reliable in all scenarios. The pedal size Shure would be my go to.
  14. I play with Artimus and his band periodically. We are under the same management and booking. My Allman Bros tribute band, Soulshine, does package shows with them and it’s always a blast. Uncle Artimus is the real deal and one of my favorite humans, and Barry Lee is also the real deal and such a sweetheart. I’ve learned a lot about a lot of things from them and particularly their sound guy Russ T Nutz. The shows always sound *Really Good* and it’s a total Love Fest. I look forward to the next one. If anyone has any questions about the production aspect or anything behind the scenes I’m happy to help if I can.
  15. Woohoo! In this case, Everyone Wins! The HFC is awesome and we’re lucky to have this 🤘❤️😎
  16. I once played with Jimmy Thackeray and his strat had the space filled with *bowling ball* material 😳 He also had a 50s LP jr that he said never intonated right until he had the bridge studs hand drilled- freehand with no measuring - by Danny Gatton. 🤷🏼‍♂️😂
  17. Right On! The bulbous hard tips they come with are the worst for me. One drummer I know uses the foam tip replacements, like expandable earplug material - give those a look too. For me it’s also trying to find a balance of bass response and isolation. They’re cheap enough I’d try both the foam and the Xmas trees - I trim some off the trunk with scissors before I put them on the earpiece 👍
  18. Several bandmates use KZ zs10s, which are like $50. They don’t fit my ears. But I’d guess the Kiwis are a fair comparison. I also use those Shure ones which are about $100-110, but they are far better for me in how they actually fit, but I don’t use the provided tips. https://a.co/d/0bpOyEXh I use these XMAS tree kind of tips and trim them because I can get the right fit without cramming lol: https://a.co/d/0hIZiqya Good luck 👍
  19. I’m gonna need a Hambulance for the shtick from Edgar, but it throws Billy’s sincerity into warm light. Monster players both.
  20. Fb is the worst please don’t force us to go there instead. This place is too important. What does the budget need to be? No reason we can’t put together whatever you need
