MARKVECTOR82 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 This just went up on ebay-http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:IT&ih=004Here we have a VERY USED somewhat rare 1986 custom made left handed Hamer Flying V with Explorer Headstock. I ordered this from Hamer in October of 85’ and accepted delivery in February 86’ (not bad. Try and get that kind of turn around today!). So the serial # shows that it is an 86’ this is another one of my road dogs that traveled the world with me until 1991 when my music career went away… has anyone seen my music career??? (Thanks Kurt!) This guitar like all of my guitars has been around the block but it still sounds and plays great. Hey it’s a Hamer of course it does. It’s just not (by some people’s standards) that pretty any more. It was originally Bubble gum Pink (hey it was the 80’s gimme a break!) when that was no longer in vogue me and my bumbling tech stripped the paint off and repainted it sort of a TV yellow (at least that’s what we were shooting for) and of course we did it with out filling in some of the scuffs and divots this honey received on the theatre and stadium trail in the late 80’s never said I was smart did I? Oh and by the way remember those silly devices that ZZ Top had to spin their guitars around in the “Legs” video? Well I was an endorsee and this guitar had one of these in there around 1989. (PLEASE look at all pics I want you to be sure you know what you are bidding on!). But I assure you, you will be impressed with the way this guitar plays and sounds. I used it for a session about 2 years ago and it performed flawlessly right out of the case that it had been residing in since 1993. I would be surprised if you were disappointed in this rare bird that is flying the coop. Ok here are the stats-Pickups- Bridge- 1985/86- Duncan Distortion with a coil tap via a push/pull Pot (these old Duncan’s sound amazing!) -Neck “ “ Duncan Vintage Strat single coil Khaler Pro - trem chrome excellent!! Khaler Snap shut Locking nut fully functioning with some aesthetic Damage Gotoh Tuners- Chrome excellent! Fret ware- Medium Original factory case – in fair condition. One broken latch ALL of the parts are original from the factory but this guitar was rewired in 2007 there was a hum I didn’t like. Any questions give a Holler
