hardheartedbill Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Thanks to HFCers Phoenix and Gwayne, they came out to the gig last night and we had a hoot. This blues band is such a good time, the other guitarist /singer is a great player and nice guy, we compliment each other well, it's like TheAltman Bros LOL. The real story of the evening is the 77 Deluxe reverb, oh my god, what a perfect sounding club amp, I used my normal pedalboard and the deluxe, perfect tone w/ the 2 LP's I was using. I played the first set on Phoenix' 57 LP w/ alnico neck pup and P-90 bridge, wow! Total sonic bliss. I played my LP for the last 2 set's as I was too nervous playing a 10k guitar the ladies were on the dance floor ( w/ Phoenix ! ) and a good time was had by all, you upstate guys have got to come out, it's a blast and a good sounding band, starting in May were there the last thursday of every month , I think Gwayne got a few pics, hopefully he can post some

gwayne Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Bill, What a day!! First, a two-hour lesson with the master which included picking up a '69 Super Reverb. Then several hours of playing all of Phoenix' finest axes. The Terrycaster - sick. Finally the hottest blues in Hooterville. What a great crowd and a great set. Can't wait to see you guys again!! Man I didn't get home until 5 a.m. I'm still trying to learn the camera, but this one came out pretty good. Here's Phoenix' 57 and the bottom-feeder Deluxe rippin'!!! :
MCChris Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Shit - Brooks made me want to burn my drumset, too. I've never met the man, but I'm sure an encounter with Brooks would make me feel like burning something also.
