MoJohn Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I'm in need of a headphone amp for bass (Cruise V with SD Basslines, to be exact). What's out there and what works? I'm looking for something like a direct box with a headphone jack and volume control. I don't need effects, just amplification.I'll be using my AKG K240s which are 600 Ohm if that makes any difference.Suggestions/comments greatly appreciated. Peace,MoJohn
Jack C Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I really like the Korg Pandora. It's tiny, uses batteries, has a tuner and drum machine, and sounds really good. It does have plenty of effects but you don't have to use them (although some of the distortion settings are surprisingly good.) I really dig it and have even used it for a little recording - which I had not originally intended to do.I also have the Behringer copy of a bass POD. Sounds good, but I don't use it as much because of the bigger size and lack of batteries.
tomteriffic Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I'm still usin' my bass Rockman. With those cans, though, which are notoriously NOT sensitive, you'll need a helluva headphone amp to drive them.
