Amp Recommendation wanted please

In the market for something ballsy, around the 100w range that is reasonably priced. I know reasonably priced is a realative term.

Any input/recommendations would be appreciated.

Greg, I like playing HIGH GAIN and I went on an AMP buying run last year looking for a "ballsy" sounding amp that I could also play at a lower volume level- I purchased used mostly from forums the following amps-

Aiken Sabre 50W 2 Channel

Soldano SLO

Divided by 13 LDW

Marshall MK2 from racerx- great amp- great guy

Bogner XTC 101B

Mesa SOLO 50- This was my first tube amp and I had this before I bought the others -

Mesa Roadking- Bought at a great price from BCR Greg and I PIF it to a HFC member

I sold all of them except the Aiken Saber, XTC. MK2 and the Mesa which I already had and loved-

When you ask for amp recommendations you really need to be specific on how much you can spend- It helps-

I would reccomend 2 amps the new 100W Sabre that Randall Aiken is building and I would encourage all HFC member to consider buying ANY of his amps- they are tough to find used because he is a low production amp builder but they do pop up from time to time- He will be ready to ship the new Sabre soon- search the gearpage on AIKEN- Give Randall a call- I will guess they will cost 2500 and worth every penny- He is also coming out with a lower cost high gain called the CORSAIR- I think that is the name- Check out the page he is coming out with 2 new amps-

The other is the Bogner XTC. I am just blown away at the tone and the versatility between channels- I could write pages about what I liked and disliked about these amps - Feel free to call me if you want more info on Aiken or any of the other amps- Barry 773-370-8527
