zeply Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Has anyone been looking for an early T-51? I may be listing a light-weight all original black one. What is current market value? Thanks.
atquinn Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 People are always looking for T51's. One sold for $650 recently on eBay, but the auction ended with buy-it-now, so that particular guitar might have gone for more. I think that was a bit of special case since the guitar was in excellent condition and it was in the popular natural finish. I would expect a solid color one to go for less. Does is have a maple fretboard or a rosewood one? Rosewoods are rarer so they might command a bit higher price (although maybe not becuase maple is more popular). Anyway, post some pics and give us an idea of the condition and it would be easier to give an estimate. Or just wait for the offers to come in via PM -Austin

Thanks.I'd be interested in buying the guitar. Let me know what your price is and maybe we can arrange something. I have a natural t51 already and really like it although I hate the stock bridge pickups on them. Scott
zeply Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 My T-51 is in all original black with a maple neck except right now it has a bright white Chandler pickguard. This did not require extra holes. It comes with the original bake-lite type guard as well as an additional Chandler grey-pearloid guard. The guitar is very clean with only light pick-marks and some finish 'swirling'. The frets are in very good shape. It's pretty light; approx. 7-7.5lbs. Comes with the original Hamer USA case. I'd be looking for the best offer over $600. Thanks
