paults Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Or, can anyone recommend slightly oversized intonation bolts to use in an old baseplate?
e-isle rock Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Try a helicoil in the stripped holes.
kurtsstuff Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Aww hell...just Jet Glue the saddles down and your good to goIntonation is for pussy's....
RacerX Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Just order a new one from Schaller, it wont say Hamer, but they have hardened inserts.
paults Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 The helicoil concept is cool - do they work on something that thin? The schaller website is more than a little obtuse -has anyone ordered directly from them?
AdmiralB Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 The helicoil concept is cool - do they work on something that thin? The schaller website is more than a little obtuse -has anyone ordered directly from them?I've never seen a helicoil that short - and I think the increase in diameter would interfere with the adjacent holes.Schaller won't sell direct. They sold me some nickel M6L tuners about six years ago; a few years later I asked for some more, and they refused to sell direct.I used to buy those baseplates from Fender dealers, when Fender distributed Floyd Rose - they weren't very expensive, about $20 each. They'll say "Floyd Rose II" on them.I don't know where you'd get them now.
e-isle rock Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 I haven't checked into a helicoil that small. I have used them in the past and have worked well but I'll have to research a little bit to see if it'd work on a baseplate. If you want new, check here:http://www.warmoth.com/hardware/bridges/br..._floyd_schallerI actually just ordered one a few days ago. Should be here soon. I don't care if it doesn't say Hamer on it. I'll just hang onto the old baseplate and find a fix for it someday. Hope the website helps!
