My first preference is for a short head, but please let me know if you have a long head or a combo for sale as I'll take what I can get. Cosmetics aren't that important, but please have it priced accordingly. No weird modifications, please. I am only interested in Red, Blue, or Green striped Mark-IIIs. I hoped that you may have some insight on the "Black Stripe MK3" era, being postive or negative. The only "problem" that I have with the "black stripe" amps is the volume drop when switching from clean to crunch. Other than that it's a very tonefull amp that has a huge output and sounds quite good to my ears.

The R2 vol mod works wonders for that though.
Jeff R Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 If you don't want to go through the expense/hassle of the R2 mod, get you a cheap OD pedal or booster to bump the volume on R2. I picked up a vintage small-box Rat recently that makes R2 just howl. I have an AC Booster that works wonders too.
